In the news...

Just watching coverage of the Massachussetts Senate race. Right now, the only opinion I will offer is this: Glenn Beck's head belongs in a camera bag off I-80 somewhere. This man could single handedly spike the rate of alcoholism in adults.

This election is just the start

When obamanation got elected...I lost faith in the american people

Now i see they are waking up

We are america...a free country

Perhaps we have taken that word "free" for granted

I for one do not want goverment crawling into my bed

So...we shall see if the rest of the states wake up also

Well, we all know the old adage "Never talk politics in bars" haha. Come to think of it, I think religion was included in that too. However, I've seen more fights started over sports and women than politics and religion.

3 states.... 3 votes for limiting the absolute power to create laws.

it is an old phrase power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absoluley.

Here is an idea, when a candidate runs for office he/she must in writing have a contract of his intentions, and how he will move his or her adjenda along, including all promises made during a campain. This will be a paper for public record for all to see, and a binding and legal document, and heres the kicker.... consisting of NO MORE than 10 pages. State your intentions clearly, and simply, with no room to include leagal twists and double talk in a way that everyone from 18 to 98 and over, god bless them, can read in an hour and understand not "interpert".

Then voters wold have the means to make a choice on what they want, not voting on pipe dreams, publicity, and promises. Failure for an elected candidate to adhere to the parameters of his or her stated intentions via the methods laid out during the campain will result in an interum re-vote mid term.

werks fer me ;)

now this is interesting...

I am so against treating captured terroists like common crimninals, personally were I in the military and had the option of shooting or capturing an enemy this would definately make me pull the trigger and save me reading out rights.

The man in question has an option, he can trun himself in, as such should he have rights....

I would say he has the right to a military trial and nothing else

While I will agree that he has the right to preach as he wishes and believe as he wishes, this is a military issue and I feel it should be dealt with by the military. I grew up in the military (born in the Navy, raised in the Air Force). I have seen recently where they are not prosecuting their own and that troubles me, and makes no sense to me. But the world is changing. When the attacks of 9/11 happened the World saw the US become something else. We have now been accused of attacking Iraq unjustly (which I do not agree with personally) and of using torture methods to gain intel from prisoners. It does matter how they decide to end this, becuase everyone will not be happy. It is the way of the world.

The big issue right now on the East Coast is whether or not the Terrorists responsible for the planning of 9/11 should be tried in court in Manhattan or not. While it makes sense to try and sentence them there, how will the police be able to guarantee them a fair trial, let alone guarantee them they will survive walking into the courthouse everyday? Kevlar can only protect so much, and there are a lot of angry people out there.

Right now in NC they are getting ready to try a Marine for killing another Marine, not in Military court, but in State Court. Like I said it doesn't make sense to me anymore. It used to be that if it was a Military issue, that was that.

And that is what is should be! The terms "military" and "civilian" do not mean the same thing, each should deal with its own issues on thier own, and if there is a crossover or grey area, for any reason, let the military take the lead.

My thought on the manhunt is that if the fella has nothing to hide, he could turn himself in to whatever authority is pursuing him. Trust me, I'm well versed in legal trouble. He seems to have committed no military crime, since he is not in the military, at least not in ours. And our military doesn't prosecute non-military personnel, regardless of the crime or jurisdiction. State and federal courts can prosecute those charged with non-military crimes. Let the Judge Advocate General and the like prosecute American military people for military crimes. Anything else, let the people settle.
